Thomas Cook UK & Ireland is to sponsor the travel section of travel and social website WAYN.com (Where Are You Now?).

WAYN claims 1.6 million UK users and is attracting around 300,000 new users a month.

Under the partnership, Thomas Cook becomes the sole sponsor of WAYN’s travel section, within the new WAYNClub area of the site.

The section features travel deals exclusive to Thomas Cook, which have been chosen to appeal specifically to WAYN members.

When clicked, these link to a special section on Thomascook.com specifically tailored for WAYN members. Typical offers for the travel page are city breaks, flight-only deals and holidays to Goa, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

Thomas Cook is also offering competition prizes through some of its sub-brands to encourage new members to the site. These include a Club 18-30 holiday for two, and a three-night trip to Las Vegas with Flexibletrips

Los tour operadores irrumpen en social websites.

Kwiqq will be working with First Choice Holidays this summer to produce an innovative social website. First Choice have a family brand of package holidays called Holiday Villages. A Holiday Village is a resort in itself; with restaurants, live entertainment and lagoon-style pools, combined with stylish accommodation and health and sports facilities. As part of their entertainment offering in these hotels, they run a talent show. As an unique twist, the contest will be driven through a social website built using the kwiqq software. Contestants will create profiles, including videos and music clips from their performances. Other guests at the hotel will also be encouraged to make profiles. This will enable them to stay in touch with friends they have made on holiday. They will also be able to comment on the performances they have seen in the talent show.

At the end of the competition, everyone with a profile will be able to vote on which contestants progress to the Grand Final which will be held in a prestigious UK venue at the end of the year.

The website will go live at the end of March.
